But before we get all “hyper-tapping adds extra fingers” – we need to see who can qualify and become one of the talented 32 who get to compete screen to screen at this years Championship!
The official dates, rules & guidelines for the Classic Tetris European Championship 2021 are listed below. CTEC registration is scheduled to respect CTWC as they get ready for the 2021 online brackets.

START: Go through the Sign-Up steps (asking for Discord & Twitch) and return to this sections afterwards.
Player has to be available on assigned time-slots & certain period of time.

PLAYER MUST BE AVAILABLE:

This guide is made to make sure your registration runs smoothly while signing up for Classic Tetris European Championship Online.
In case of concerns, confusing or lack of informations: Please direct your attention to the channel #questions in the “CTEC 2021” category on the official CTEC Discord Server. You might find others dealing with the same and if not, please express your concern.

To make sure the assigned judge can communicate live and check your equipment together with you, please make sure to own your own Twitch account.
We are most likely going to use the online tool “MaxoutClub” during tournament which also requires that you log in with your Twitch account to get access.
CTEC will at no point be asking for your password or other access informations.

Note: A channel shows plays of 2 matches at the same time
Players request time slots but is not guaranteed to be given the time slot player has requested. CTEC will set as much time available for qualification as possible and find referees for all time slots provided. CTEC encourage players to commit to as many time slots as possible to make the schedule work as best as possible.
Qualification will be done in single time slots of two consecutive hours per player. An official CTEC referee will be assigned to the timeslot and check players equipment together with player before qualification games can begin.
The equipment check is not a part of the two hours play per player but will be done before time starts. Player must show referee the hardware, the setup and is asked to play a test game live through streaming before the two hours start and the qualification has officially started.
Note: No player will get more than two consecutive hours of uninterrupted qualification play.
Make sure your qualification stream is saved on Twitch. It must be done manually.

One score to beat them all!
Player’s best score within the two hours of qualification will be the official submission for CTEC Online Tournament.
CTEC may choose to update score board as scores are submitted.
We want to see your best game so go for the gold.
Player’s score during qualification determines the placement/seed a player will be given in the brackets. Player with highest score will compete against the player with the lowest score, player of second highest score will compete against player with the second lowest score and so on and so forth.
We might open up for CTEC profiles on ClassicTetris.eu. It is not a requirement at this stage, but is presented as an option to be connected to the wonderful world of Classic Tetris.

ABOUT FORMAT:
The player who reaches 4 wins/hearts before the other is the winner of the match and stays in the championship.
Players will compete in groups of 8. The two winners will go on to compete on final day 12th fo December 2021. 2 groups (of 8 each) will be competing each day and is competing on two separate Twitch channels:

Please note, that the two Twitch channels will be showing each own group and with its own commentators.
LOOSERS’ BRACKET:
In ROUND 1, 4 (of the 8) players will be competing in two players matches. Twitch channels will show 2 matches at a time, being 4 players in total.
The winner will always stay in the main bracket and go on to meet the next contestant until winning the last round.
The looser will get a second chance at the loosers’ bracket and will have to win to stay in the championship.
A player in the main bracket who looses against a contestant, at any time, will get to play at the loosers’ bracket. This is why we will see a match from loosers’ brackets as the last match of the day.
Only loosing in the loosers’ brackets will exit the player from the championship.

The 8 players are placed into 2 groups.
Group A: Winners of “Qualifier’s Winner’s brackets”.
Group B: Winners of “Qualifier’s Loser’s brackets”.
The seeds of each group is sorted by performance (lost matches asc, lost games asc, average losing score desc). Resembling how the seeds for the 32 qualified players were placed by performance, however, the only performance at that time was the qualification score.

Please note, that same schedule tend to end later than planned during Top 32 qualifier’s weekend.
FINAL BRACKET
The Silver Bracket Top 8 will be displayed on the December weekend either the 18 or 19th 2021 (most likely Sunday) from around 16 UTC.
Silver Brackets will also be broadcasted at the CTEC main channel: Twitch.tv/ClassicTetrisEurope
The Silver Bracket is an unofficial bracket created by the initiative of the CTEC community & Classic Tetris players.
Silver Bracket 2021 is a bracket for 16 players who participated at CTEC 2021 qualification and submitted a score which placed them as number 33 to 48.
The decision of organising the Silver Bracket was through a vote for the respective 16 players. Vote results was 16 out of 16 in the favour of doing so.
Execution is under the management of IMoC with PirBip as main restreamer & the support of a team of trusted persons to help.
The first round of 16 will be played via. self-restream. All participants choose their own date within a timespan and play it with a restreamer on any channel.
