Yesterday went down like the first long piece after a draught. What an amazing experience.
We saw a skill level like never before and the triple CTEC Champion Svavar won some and lost some but in the end got beaten, the winner of last year’s CTEC Online, Wing, also had to accept defeat but was a sport to interview once the day was coming to an end. The top players of the day who went on without playing looser’s brackets were: HYBRID (group A) and SIDNEV (group B).
Today we will get to experience another CTEC Champion in action: Jani! Another high profiled player is Fractal who qualified with the amazed us all with 1 maxout + 741.000 kicker, displaying the highest non-maxout score. Interesting to see how he does in the live tournament. Besides Fractal we will also see another USA competitor: Stone. Both are from a place where the NTSC format is the standard – so to adapt to the European PAL format will be great to follow. The time differences are about 6 hours depending on who and where (Europe/USA) but didn’t seem to cause much problems from Eren (USA) who went on via loosers bracket.
